E-Resource Guides: Passport

What is Passport?

Passport by Euromonitor (formerly known as GMID) is a powerful business related database containing detailed statistics on industries, economies and consumption patterns. Most staff and students find the Industries tab and the Country Reports the most useful.

Examples of industries covered include Consumer Health, Fresh Food and Luxury Goods. Some sub-industries covered include coffee, eyewear and luxury leather goods among others. Country specific statistics are available for deeper analysis. For example you could generate the annual sales of coffee in Singapore and see if there is an up or downtrend in sales. Information is also available on the brands and their market share.

Who should use Passport?

Passport will be useful to anyone who is interested to look at industry specific statistics and trends by country.

For example ASC staff and students may be interested to look at Consumer Health reports and statistics. BUS staff and students may be interested in the Hot Drinks industries for research into marketing efforts.

The statistics and analyses available make Passport useful and accessible to most students.
