GEN / APA Citation Style: Reference List

Some basic rules

At the end of your assignment, you will need a list of all the sources you have used.

Basic rules about the reference list:

  • list your sources in alphabetical order, according to the first author's last name or first word of the title (if there is no author)
  • if there is more than one source by the same author, list by publication date with the earliest date first
  • indent all lines after the first by 1.27cm or 0.5 inches. Press the tab key once to indent that line
  • break the URL at the end of the lines BEFORE any punctuation
